Stretching isn't for wimps!
It improves your performance, lessens the chance of injury, improves posture and makes your workout more enjoyable.
Make sure your stretches are pertinent to the exercise you will be doing.
Prior to your workout, this includes going for a quick run! do dynamic ie: moving stretches.
Post workout when your muscles are warm do static stretches to avoid shortened tight muscles.
Or do a fab yoga session.
